ISHIBUMI PATTERN NECKLACE
This simple necklace is well balanced, elegant and brings sunshine to any outfit. The chic form is created with a traditional Japanese pattern called Ishibumi. This is a perfect addition to any stylish outfit.
The necklace is a one-off creation, meaning no other necklace exactly like this exists anywhere! It is made of 100% pure baby alpaca yarn without any admixtures. The yarn used is selection of fibre grown by our alpacas Arietta, Dyme and Monty. The white in the design is also from Monty.
The fibre is spun into yarn by The Border Mill, who specialise in alpaca processing, before then being sent to Marta at Alpacapella Jewellery to be turned into our stunning collection of unique alpaca jewellery creations.

TECHNIQUE & FINDINGS
To make the necklace with Ishibumi pattern a Japanese braiding technique called kumihimo (“gathered threads”) is used. It’s a time-consuming technique but results that can be achieved through it are stunning. A piece of wire inside a braid makes the necklace flexible but keeps the shape.
The necklace is finished with a lobster and has an extension chain.
SURGICAL HYPOALLERGENIC STEEL
Made from Hypo-allergenic Surgical Steel, ideal for those sensitive to cheap metals, often high in Nickel.
The necklace is presented in a gift box for safe keeping.
